Arr... Pirate turned 6!

How can Carter really be 6 years old! It seems like I just brought him home from the hospital. He is such a wonderful son, brother, friend, etc. and I am so proud to be his mom. This year he was asking for a DS, but instead we got him an I Pod Touch. He was so excited! He loves it.
He had a great birthday party with friends. We had a cannon ball toss, pinned the treasure on the map, walk the plank and then treasure hunt. It was a nice and fun day!

Illinois and the UP of Michigan trip

We had a wonderful two week trip. It was packed full of fun and some other funny moments. The drive up to Illinois was long the second day and it didn't help that we were tired when we arrived at 10:30pm, but we made it and we were able to sleep in the next day.

Then, it was off for swimming, water balloons, and playing with cousins. Kara was in baby heaven because of the older cousins had their American Girl dolls out and the numerous amounts of clothes. Carter loved being with the boys playing Nerf guns, baseball, and of course trying to surf in the pool.

We went to the drive in with my cousins and saw Brave but fell asleep in the second showing, which was Avengers. Carter found a railroad nail which was pretty cool to have a "keepsake".

We also hiked one morning in Matthiessen state park. It was fun to see "caves" and wade in the natural waters.

Fourth of July we spent swimming, playing, and then later went to my moms high school to watch the firework show.

The next stop was heading to the UP of Michigan. At the cabin we swam, tubed, fished, went on boat rides, saw deer, loons, played with a lot of cousins, went to a children's museum and relaxed!!

We stopped by Batavia to see my cousins and we ended up going to Lego Discovery Land one afternoon. The kids had a great time!

Now we are back at home and the laundry is all finished, bags unpacked and we are trying to get things settled.
